Gold Jacket Club 10/22/2009 : Gold Jacket Club may be my favorite local band and since they play out so rarely I obviously had to go.
I have a mix of all the shots from the evening with Parlour, Gold Jacket Club, Minnow and Frontier(s).

Here is an article about Gold Jacket Club.

"Gold Jacket Club is the Halley’s Comet of Louisville music. Performances are rare — so rare that they’re big events within the band’s small but loyal fandom. Recordings are elusive. The band has not released a record, not even an EP. The band keeps no MySpace page. The band exists via a handful of photos, a lone video on YouTube and word-of-mouth in a handful of Germantown bars and Highlands coffeehouses. Without that, you’d be forgiven for doubting Gold Jacket Club’s very existence."

Gold Jacket Club 07/19/2008 : "The 930 Listening Room is pleased to welcome Gold Jacket Club for a rare performance in an intimate setting."

“Gold Jacket Club formed in a way many Louisville bands often do, as an extension of longtime friendships. Guitarist Jeff Tucker attended Male High School at the same time as drummer Kyle Crabtree, bassist Jason Skaggs and Chad Cutsinger, who plays piano, Rhodes and Hammond organ. When Cutsinger went into the Army, Tucker, Skaggs and Crabtree continued on under the name Eleven Eleven. The three recorded an album for Doghouse Records, and as Tucker puts it, “did a whole lot of driving to Pennsylvania to play for 20 people.? Bassist Beenee Overstreet, drummer Dillon Marshall and guitarist Gary Bell, all of whom played in the band Union, also longtime friends of Tucker’s, round out the club’s lineup.” - Mat Herron, LEO

The Fervor, King's Daughters & Sons : Pour Haus: King’s Daughters & Sons, The Fervor; August 31, 2007

Joe Manning brings his new band, King's Daughters & Sons, to the Pour Haus tonight, and it's a Louisville super-group. Manning will be joined by Rachel Grimes (piano), Todd Cook (bass), Kyle Crabtree (drums) and Mike Heineman (guitar). Among them, they've performed in the Rachels, Shipping News, Rodan, Slint and The Grand Prize.

They'll perform some new songs for a record to be released under the King's Daughters & Sons name. Manning fans will recognize the basic sound -- all shadows and sharp corners -- but it has been expanded exponentially without growing busy or obtrusive.

"It's simple but still sounds very full," Manning said.
